Musicians integrated through loose paths seeking a unique opportunity to create a dialogue between the sounds of samba and its countless strands of Jazz, Funk, Soul and Swingueira. That is how you would describe the sound, style and groove from Samba Nonsense. While harmonizing grooves come together with a rich history of musical inspiration, it’s the unusual melodies in the voice of front man Jefferson Placido that make this album special. Guided by an ensemble of musicians from the North Zone (rio), including Jefferson Placido (Voice e Theremin), Daniel Carlos Fernandes (drums), Daniel Bento (Bass), André Tertuliano (voice) Vitor Barros (voice and guitar), Bruno Pereira (voice and effects) and Marcelo Ceará (voice and Cavaco), these cool cats known as Samba Nonsense are rewriting the now sound of rio’s music scene.

Boca do Rio: The Dam is Breaking
The Dam is breaking; is a raw, organic, Brazilian Soul album sung both in Portuguese and English, giving listeners the best of both worlds, as they live, love and dance to the rhythms. The music is a representation of all the things that BOCA DO RIO stands for, while pollinating the world through acoustic melodies, electric guitars, percussive beats, and enough Soul to bring the energy and vibe of Brazil to your airwaves. The first single “Beija Quem” is a grooving, jazzy samba-soul shaker sung both in English and Portuguese with acoustic melodies that embody the heartbeat of Brazil while the percussion drives the beat to move your feet. A video for the first single captures the spirit and soul of friends and supporters of BOCA DO RIO as their natural progression of great music leads to a party for all to enjoy!
